Orion Protocol’s Private Main Net is live and onboarding inaugural brokers for functionality and security optimization. With near full-functionality, this milestone is the final phase prior to Orion Terminal’s launch to the public, set for this quarter.

Delegated Proof of Broker (DPoB) fulfills every function on Orion Protocol from order execution, to clearing, to the governance of choosing a broker, and everything in between, via a decentralized brokerage with the native ORN token at its core. The entire ecosystem is built on a network of brokers running Orion Broker Software with accounts across multiple exchanges (or exchanges themselves).

Over the past month, leading blockchain security firm CertiK has carried out a full-scale security audit, including VAPT of the smart contracts, and Substrate modules involved in the development and launch of Orion Terminal, and will continue to audit the terminal beyond public main net.

Starting today, Orion Protocol’s Private Main Net will be rigorously tested to a closed group of brokers for functionality and security optimization, with a focus on testing and optimizing performance, stability, security, and efficiency. Half a dozen inaugural brokers have already been onboarded to take part in Orion Protocol’s private main net; their input will be rigorously tested with the speed and efficiency of each broker's output on the network used to gauge future performance.

Initial volume will be monitored and analyzed to determine the gradual addition of subsequent brokers in the queue to be onboarded to the platform. With near full-functionality, this milestone is the final phase prior to Orion Terminal’s launch to the public, set for this quarter.

Beyond the key brokers already onboarded, the subsequent phases of private main net will be rolled out to other exchanges, market makers and OTC desks, wallets and crypto projects, active community members and evangelists, and key partners. More details will be provided soon.

This phase will also be used to determine the rate of return for Non-Broker Staking on the Terminal. Non-Broker Stakers will stake ORN to ‘vote’ for their choice of Broker based on the variable reward share offered. Brokers are incentivized to offer attractive rates to Non-Broker Stakers to grow their stake, increasing their chance of being chosen.
